Client Q&A: Olivia Marsh, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals 12 Aug 2020
We were delighted to talk recently with Olivia Marsh, Brand Manager at Glenmark Pharmaceuticals and a longstanding PharmaMedic Consultancy (PMC®) customer. In this new Q&A article, we discuss Olivia’s experience of working with PMC® and her view on how the relationship supports Glenmark’s brand management activities.
What’s your role?
I’m a brand manager, and I manage the development of promotional materials and marketing for several respiratory branded generics at Glenmark. I also handle a pharmacy product that we market directly to both pharmacists and consumers. I’ve been with the company for three years now and thoroughly enjoy my role.
How does PMC® help you and Glenmark?
At Glenmark in the UK, we don’t employ a full-time pharmaceutical physician, so PMC® fulfils that role for us.
The partnership we have with PMC® and our consultant works exceptionally well. Our PMC® consultant is highly experienced, and it’s invaluable to be able to draw on their wealth of knowledge and expertise. While there isn’t currently a sufficient volume of work to justify a full-time employee at the PMC® consultant’s level, we benefit from having someone of their exceptional calibre available to us.
What is your experience of working with PMC®?
I very much enjoy working with them. My With consultant and I work extremely closely together, especially while we are developing promotional materials. I share copy with them, and they will then review and approve the concept. With my commercial mindset, my goal is to make the materials as appealing as possible. My PMC® consultant, on the other hand, is approaching the materials from their medical standpoint to ensure compliance. We collaborate and meet in the middle to produce promotional materials that meet both our objectives.
What value does the PMC® consultant add to your work?
We couldn’t do it without them! Our PMC® consultant is incredibly responsive and available – I don’t know how they do it. Even though they have a diverse portfolio of clients, they make us feel like they are just looking after us.
The other important aspect is that our PMC® consultant has been working with us for over three years. They know all our brands inside out, which makes an enormous difference. Having all this context means she can accomplish tasks more quickly.
How do you work together?
We have a weekly teleconference where we’ll go through all the active projects and discuss anything that’s happening more widely in the industry. I’m the only marketer at Glenmark right now, so I find the additional perspectives they can share from broader industry trends very helpful indeed.
